About the Role

We are looking for a full-time Pet Care Attendant at Sugarloaf Animal Hospital to help us provide the best care for pets staying at our hospital. 

This position supports pets staying in both our hospital and kennel. Among other responsibilities a Pet Care  

Attendant: 

• Walking pets outside in various weather conditions 

• Cleaning and sanitizing dog runs/cages and cat cages 

• Feeding and watering pets on various schedules 

• Maintaining the overall cleanliness of the kennel area and main parts of our hospital. This position requires a lot of cleaning and lifting. 

• Bathing pets 

• Monitoring pets for any signs of illness or distress and report any concerns to the appropriate staff member 

• Medicating boarders according to their specified schedules 

• Helping veterinary staff with handling patients for exam, diagnostics, and treatments 

Requirements: 

• Previous experience working with animals 

• Knowledge of basic pet care and behavior 

• Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and securely 

• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with staff and provide updates on patient’s well-being 

• Reliable transportation 

• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays 

• Pay close attention to detail and cleanliness 

• This position will require most weekends, (Saturday and or Sunday), Holidays, and some week days.
