Jessie Nelson

Dr. Nelson is originally from Glen Dale, WV. She attended Marshall University in Hunting, WV where she received her bachelor’s of science with an emphasis in Biology. Then attend Auburn University for her doctorate in veterinary medicine. After graduating in May 2012 form Auburn,she moved to Sandy Springs, GA where she completed a one year rotating internship with Blue Pearl Georgia Veterinary Specialists. Then she and her husband moved to Houston, Texas for
one year while he completed his specialty internship in veterinary surgery and she worked as an associate veterinary at Sugar Land Animal Hospital. Next, they moved to Pasadena, California for her husband’s surgical residency at VCA Animal Specialty Group. She continued to work in general practice at VCA Santa Anita. Finally, they moved back to Atlanta, Georgia in 2017.
When she is not practicing medicine, Dr. Nelson enjoys training for triathlons, road races, and bike events. She and her husband are avid outdoor enthusiast and back pack on the AT when they get a chance. They currently have 2 indoor cats, Tux and Amora, and one chocolate labrador Athena.
